What you will see when you come to our meetings
Sign-In Members check off their names on the sheet provided by the Membership Coordinators as record of attendance.
Yearly membership is $20 and is due to the Membership Coordinators by October 1.
Workshop Information Sign-up sheets for the Monthly Workshops with supply lists as appropriate are provided.
Workshop fees are $5 for Guild Members and $20 for non-members and are paid to the Workshop Coordinator.
Workshops are held once a month, on a Saturday from 9 AM to 3 PM at the Church and are conducted by a Guild member or an outside instructor on various quilting techniques.
Name Tag Square & Basket Guild Members who wear their name tags take a 6 1/2" square of fabric and are eligible to win a fat quarter of the fabric by placing their names in a basket for a drawing.
During the meeting, a new member will be asked to draw a name from the basket. The person whose name is drawn wins the Fat Quarter. NOTE: This is the same material as the 6 1/2" square.
Block Swap The Block Swap gives the Guild members the opportunity to try new and different blocks and is an excellent learning tool for them.
Each month the Block Swap Coordinators assemble a Block package that includes a pattern and some of the required fabric; the Guild member supplies the rest of the fabric. Cost for the Block package is $1.
The following month, the completed blocks are returned to the Guild meeting and those who have completed a block enter their names in a basket and are eligible to win all the completed blocks.
During the meeting, a new member will be asked to draw a name from the basket.
Guild Store The store provides quilt related items that members may buy at wholesale prices.
Guild members can shop prior to the monthly meeting or during the refreshment break.
The Coordinator will try to accommodate special requests.
Book & Stencil Library The Guild has books and stencils, located in the storage closet, that members can borrow in the honor system.
Free Table Guild members bring quilting related items they no longer want and put them on the "Free Table" for other Guild members to take. If the items are not taken during the meeting, the person who brought them is responsible for taking the items home.

Discussion Items Guild members or Coordinators will share information with other members.
Guild members will ask the Guild President prior to the meeting to be put on the agenda or will ask during the meeting.
Table Talk Upcoming Workshops: Workshop Coordinator will discuss the upcoming Workshops.
Block Swap: Block Swap Coordinators will describe the monthly Block.
Introduction of New Members & Drawings New Members and/or visitors will be asked to introduce themselves and may be asked to draw a name for the Block Swap and Name Tag baskets.

Program for the Evening

Some of the our Special Projects during the year.
Bennington Quiltfest In September, the Guild hosts a quilt show at Mount Anthony Union High School in Bennington.
Planning is done throughout the year under the direction of the BQF Coodinators.
Quilt Cupboard Throughout the year and at Quilt Cupboard Workshops, Guild members make quilts, which are donated to people in need or to charitable organizations.
The quilts and supplies are stored at the Quilt Cupboard Coordinator's house.
Teddy Bear Quilts In the fall, Guild members make quilts and bags for teddy bears that the Guild provides. The bears are distributed at the October meeting and brought back at the November meeting. The teddy bears, quilts and their drawstring bags are on display at the Park McCullough House during December until the time when they are given to the Spirit of Sharing, the organization that distributes gifts and food to those in need for the holidays.
Special Meetings In June and December, QVQ holds special meetings.
The June meeting historically is a pot luck/picnic, with hamburgers and hot dogs provided by the Guild.
The December meeting is a pot luck dinner with holiday activities and games.
Newsletters The newsletter with information about workshops, meetings, and items of interest is sent to Guild members quarterly.
Sunshine The Sunshine Coordinator sends cards and/or flowers to Guild members who are ill or have had a death in the family.
